EMERGE partner Suet Lee (to the right in the picture) was awarded a best poster award at the International Conference on Swarm Intelligence (ANTS 2024) held on October 9-11, 2024, in Konstanz, Germany.
The work presents a data-driven method to identify effective local actions available to faulty robots in a robotic swarm. The difficulty with designing an effective mitigation strategy lies in the complexity of the swarm as a system, where individual interactions give rise to emergent behaviour. It considers two intralogistics scenarios where the swarm must retrieve and deliver boxes, and presents a method to identify effective actions for particular fault types.
